HEALTH AND SAFETY AWARENESS
Health and Safety Awarness Statement
As a member of the National Association of Schools of Music, Southern supports NASM’s
commitment to the promotion of health and wellness for music students and staff. Accordingly,
the School of Music will provide basic information about the maintenance of health
and safety within the contexts of practice, performance, teaching, and listening.
Students and staff are encouraged to seek preventive measures that can be taken to
avoid serious and/or chronic conditions.
Furthermore, the School of Music works within the context of the institution’s commitment to health and wellness as one of the student learning goals, i.e. students will “take responsibility for their own well-being through a health-promoting lifestyle.”
