Learn MoreSouthern’s 1,300-acre campus includes 800 acres of forest, crisscrossed with nearly 40 miles of hiking and biking trails. The trails are spread across White Oak Mountain and Bauxite Ridge. They stretch from the lowest point of the valley to the ridge tops overlooking the university.
Learn MoreAccessible from campus, the community greenway offers a variety of features, including several miles of paved walkways, the Imagination Station Playground, a dog park, and picnic tables. You'll find fountains in ponds, artistic benches, old wagon wheels, and plenty of bird feeders.

The Symphony Orchestra is comprised of approximately 70 student musicians who have successfully auditioned and are prepared to perform a broad range of classical and sacred music literature. Most have previous ensemble experience in community groups or from high school.

Learn MoreI Cantori is a select chamber choir for students with advanced vocal potential and experience, and its members form the leadership core for Bel Canto (women’s chorus) and Die Meistersinger (men’s chorus). Repertoire includes a broad stylistic range from diverse musical eras.
Learn MoreBel Canto (women's chorus) and Die Meistersinger (men's chorus) are general choirs available to all students with beginning to advanced levels of choral experience. These choirs often combine for church services and concerts as well as to perform large works with the Symphony Orchestra.
Learn MoreThe Jazz Ensemble is a standard 17-member big band dedicated to the study and performance of classic jazz and popular music from the 1920s through today. Emphasis is placed on ensemble interaction and individual improvisation.
Learn MoreSouthern Ringtones is a bell choir comprised of approximately 10 students who enjoy learning and performing new music. It is available to students who know how to count and read music. Experience is preferred but not required.

Gym-Masters participate in Acrofest, an event that brings Seventh-day Adventist gymnasts together from institutions across the country and around the world.

Service is an important part of Gym-Masters, and the team goes on a yearly mission trip during spring break.

Performances
Gym-Masters perform across the United States and beyond, using acrobatic and gymnastic routines to emphasize the importance of healthy living, commitment, dedication, teamwork, and trust.
Healthcare and Safety
It may not be the same as having Mom nearby, but students don't have to struggle through minor illnesses alone. Nurse practitioners at the University Health Center, working under the supervision of a campus physician, are here to care for routine health questions and challenges.
