Duane and Eunice Bietz Collection
The Duane and Eunice Bietz Collection houses books by and about Mark Twain. The collection was donated to McKee Library by Duane and Eunice Bietz in 2009.
About
This is a rare collection of artifacts, signed copies, first editions, and Twain-related items. Duane Bietz, cardiac surgeon and brother of the former university president, along with his wife, Eunice, chose to donate the several-hundred-piece collection to Southern’s library because they wanted to increase the library’s resources. The collection strengthens the library by adding uniqueness and provides a wonderful opportunity for students to research Mark Twain and his life works.
A Brief History
