Group Study Rooms

McKee Library has eight study rooms located across three floors. Study rooms are available to Southern Adventist University students and faculty for studying, viewing, and project preparation. Currently, reservations are not allowed for community patrons or alumni. Descriptions and pictures of each study room are available on the library website’s study room reservation system.

Guidelines:

  • The persons whose name is on the reservation must be in the room. The name of the reservation must match the email address provided.
  • Rooms can be reserved up to 30 days in advance, up to a maximum of three hours per day. The hours do not have to be sequential, nor must the reservations be for the same room.
  • Patrons should select a room appropriately sized for their study group. Smaller groups should use smaller rooms to keep larger rooms free for larger groups.
  • Upon arrival, patrons must check in at the nearest help desk or via the QR code on the study room door. Failure to do so will result in the loss of a reservation. Rooms are held for 15 minutes and then forfeited.
  • Patrons must not disturb other library patrons.
  • Patrons must clean and straighten the room when finished. They should turn off all equipment used, cap markers, erase boards, turn out lights, dispose of trash, and close the door. Patrons are responsible for any damage or loss.
  • Using a room implies consent to follow the policies and rules of the library.
  • Reports of misuse may result in denying room reservation privileges and other library services in the future.
  • Special requests for atypical room use will be considered case-by-case. Patrons should contact the circulation manager if they have a unique need.
  • Patrons will be asked to leave if disrupting others.

Procedures:

  • Reserve the room through the study room reservation system on the library’s website.
  • The group representative must check in via the QR code on the study room door or by visiting the nearest help desk. Failure to check in will result in the loss of a reservation. Rooms are held for 15 minutes and then forfeited.
  • To access the study room, go to the nearest help desk.
