The computer equipment and network in McKee Library support the research, learning, and teaching activities of current Southern Adventist University students, faculty, and staff. McKee Library is also committed to serving the research needs of the general public and other affiliated McKee Library community users.
Access
- The library prioritizes computer use for current students, faculty, and staff by restricting the number of computers available for community patrons or visitors.
- The library reserves the right to ask community patrons to forego the use of computers if students need to use them for educational purposes.
- The library reserves the right to limit the content accessible on public-use computers.
- The library reserves the right to terminate a patron’s computer use if it is being misused.
- Children, age 14 and under, may responsibly use the computers provided they are accompanied by an adult.
Acceptable Use
Conduct which violates the Acceptable Use Policy includes, but is not limited to:
- Conduct that violates Southern Adventist University’s Information Technology Acceptable Use Policy.
- Starting the computer from an external device, such as an external hard drive or USB drive.
- Installing applications or modifying the configuration of the computer, its applications, and/or operating system.
- Viewing any obscene, indecent images, data, or material.
Headphones and Earbuds
- Headphones are available for use. An ID card is required, and there is a $15.00 charge for damage.
- Earbuds are available for purchase for $1.00/pair.
