Senate Scholarship

The Student Senate at Southern Adventist University invites students to apply for either of the two seperate scholarships it gives out annually. Click below to see more information regarding the scholarships and to apply. 

Each potential recipient must fill out an application and then go thru an interview process.  The deadline for the application is December 1, 2024.

Senate Scholarships

International Student Scholarship

The purpose of the Student Association Senate International Student Scholarship is to support the mission, program, and activities of Southern by addressing the need for financial support among international students. International students are an asset to cultural diversity on campus; they add to the richness of campus culture. By contributing to their Southern experience, we are contributing to the well-being of our campus. 

Scholarships in the amount of $1,043 each will be awarded to 6 recipients. The committee will review the applications and the recipients will be notified via email.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:
1. Have an approved F1 visa status
2. Be an undergraduate student 
3. Completed at least 1 full year at Southern prior to applying
4. Financial need (based on the SAU Student Aid Policy)
5. Have and maintain a minimum cumulative gpa of 2.50 or higher
6. Maintain a job throughout the year

Leadership/Merit Endowed Scholarship

The purpose of the Student Association Senate Leadership/Merit Endowed Scholarship is to award individuals of the student body who show contributive and impactful leadership roles on and off campus. 

A scholarships in the amount of $1,025 will be awarded to 5 recipients. The committee will review the applications and the recipients will be notified via email.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:
1. Junior or Senior class standing
2. Have and maintain a minimum cumulative gpa of 3.00 or higher
3. Financial need (based on the SAU Student Aid Policy)
4. Not a current Student Association officer
