A small question for you. What is an epiphany? It can be described as a sudden manifestation of perception of the essential nature or meaning of something. An intuitive grasp of reality through something (such as an event) usually simple and striking. An illumination discovery, realization, or disclosure. A revealing scene or moment. A moment when you suddenly feel that you understand, or suddenly become conscious of, something that is very important to you. When inspiration hits you out of the blue, call it an epiphany. A moment of sudden understanding. "I had the epiphany that laughter was light, and light was laughter, and that this was the secret of the universe." A quote from Donna Tartt
Cash Prizes - Multiple submissions of 1,500 words or less accepted.
Legacy
A BRIEF HISTORY
Legacy was the first campus publication devoted entirely to students' literary works. It began publication with the 1965-1966 school year, sponsored by the Scholarship Committee of Southern Missionary College. The publication is currently sponsored by the English Department. There were no issues published from 1985-1990.
Every year, the Legacy has a contest through which SAU students can win cash prizes for their creative writing
submissions. During the 2019-2020 school year, the Legacy opened the contest up to photography submissions. They hope to also include other
creative outlets like painting, drawing, and digital art in the future.
